I'm celebrating the talented designer cohort giving us all a peek behind the curtains of their processes and frameworks in the /lounge this week. Go shower these designers with love. 🏅

Fair enough. Decent is a modular decentralized ops platform that adds governance to Safes. We're targeting decentralized orgs of all sizes that want to build more robust governance structure without slowing themselves down. We've got a lil product overview vid we made with our rebrand campaign: https://youtu.be/umsjrc89nm0?si=cwGFVJjuv7oP1rJz More info in our docs: https://docs.decentdao.org/app And our brand standards: https://brand.decentdao.org/

Writing it out and asking for help were huge unlocks for me as I got more experience leading a small team. Childhood traumas kinda suppressed both of those skills in me but they should be Human 101 skills encouraged by all to overcome challenges. V powerful tools for change.

Creativity is more about ritual and process than it is about that ~magical~ spark of inspiration.

I know this one :) Design is 80% mechanics 20% creativity. Especially in web / app / product design, best practices and resources dictate how you can or should structure your design So MOST of the times, creative ruts are just a bellwether for boredom or hunger or any number of non-design-related issues, and you just have not gone through the motions. Here's the thing: even in those precious few cases where this is not the case, going through the motions will help you get unstuck.

There's no silver bullet, but a few go-tos: - Write it out. I find writing is the most reliable way for me to structure my thoughts and connect ideas. - Metaphors and analogies. More often than not, the essence of a problem or experience can be mapped onto an existing, seemingly unrelated experience/mental model. Helps approach things from a new angle. - Embrace speed. Sometimes a "creative block" is really just decision paralysis. I find rapid iteration (good, bad or ugly) is the only surefire way to make progress. There's something to learn from even the worst ideas. - Collab. There's no shame in asking for help or getting fresh eyes on something after toiling away in isolation. Getting outside input and/or a new perspective can be a game changer. - Give it time. I've never designed something in a day that doesn't benefit from one more hour of refinement the following day. Sometimes there just aren't any shortcuts.

- Go for a bike ride - Go for a walk - Garden - Bake - Smoke weed - Watch a movie - Actively listen to music - Any combo of the above Basically, step away from the problem and do anything else that ignites my creative energy without directly thinking about the problem. Ideas will seep in on their own when you let the mind do its thing.

Beautifully said. That’s something I’ve always held close to me as I’ve moved around into new communities. You need to listen and learn A LOT before you start speaking and doing. 250 $degen

It’s hard to really know a place without becoming that place A thought: for example, while it is rather easy to assume what it’s like to be a bird, it’s surprisingly hard to know what it’s like to be a bird unless you really are born as a bird and live life day to day, as a bird.

Identity is still valuable for differentiation. Probably moreso than content. However, content helps proliferate the identity and give it more form. A solid brand today will have engaging content at the tip of the spear with a cohesive experience all the way to the other end of the spear.
