This speaks to a larger issue about this space, which for engagement purposes is an obsessive fixation on: ‣The top 1% ‣The 10x dev ‣The hustler who relentlessly grinds at the expense of any life balance. ‣The perception of failure as nothing but weakness as opposed to part of the process. This is such a myopic way to look at things that you're naturally going to overlook some very talented people because they don't fit such a narrow definition. Furthermore, the ratio of people who genuinely fit these terms are outdone by those who pretend they have these qualities. People at large have a tendency to conflate loud voices with those who actually do the work & as such get caught up in the grift. Farcaster/Warpcast is better than the former bird app in this regard, but as this place grows, those who see things with such blinders on are naturally going to flood in and exacerbate that problem. My hope is that there are enough people here to call this stuff out and keep the ratio in check.

Here's a fun fact I doubt many people here know. The Leprechaun was the first movie character to open the New York stock exchange. Unsurprisingly, they had no problem letting a ghoulish character from a horror film ring the bell and stage a protest outside to return to the gold standard. I've been thinking about sharing a few creative marketing stories like this, but not sure if there's enough interest around here. Will see how this cast does and let the people decide.

The days of navigating either bad or convoluted documentation are over. Once I started pulling them in to a local LLM to simplify and interact with there was no going back. If anything, I've found this to be such an "a-ha" moment for people who aren't even passively interested in ai, that they re-think what is possible. This is progress.

It's 1995 and you want to onboard people to your new OS. Your marketing department is tasked with figuring out how to make make sure people understand the top 25 features your R&D department spent $900 million on. To do this, they double down on the cringe factor by creating the world's first "cyber sitcom", with soon-to-be familiar faces just before they hit the cultural zeitgeist. It doesn't resonate as intended but becomes a staple of 90's kitsch. https://youtu.be/vIYfqxMPr0c?si=O3wo5La1h4U4KKcI&t=12

During the collapse of the USSR, Alexy Titarenko searched for a different visual language to express his country’s new reality. His experiments with long exposure and innovative printmaking techniques in the context of street photography led to the series City of Shadows (1991-1994)

A few weeks ago @mats asked what I would do to improve Dune's dashboard discovery process. While I was battling a cold, I thought about it deeply. I know Dune is constantly trying to improve their user experience & I would love to see them implement some of these features as they grow https://paragraph.xyz/@nowtrending/how-dune-can-better-highlight-their-wizards

@patrickalphac wrote a great thread on the current status of Hardware Wallets. However the other missing component is the social engineering aspect, as well as the issue with SAFE's lack of SRI hashing. A stark reminder that it's never just one aspect, but several that people need to be aware of and account for. The higher the value, the more sophisticated the attack. https://warpcast.com/adam-/0x42ccb2cf

The true litmus test in crypto is if people are still talking about and using your token/product 3 months after launch. Some experience a dead cat bounce, but few can sustain serious momentum after that.
