You can’t buy back time. But you can refuse to sell it. Every meeting you decline, every task you delegate, every notification you disable = time arbitrage. You’re not lazy. You’re liquid. https://youtu.be/JM_tgYkOJpc?si=fJ-TNNV3nSGMtWl-

The danger is that AI will stifle creativity the same way porn stifles sex: not by eliminating it, but by making the synthetic version so convenient that some folks never bother developing the actual skill.

True story I remembered in a conversation last night. When I was a kid in high school they had a careers room with information sheets and there was a trade section. I was looking at it and the careers counsellor said - don’t look at that- the Japanese will have a robot to do all those jobs. Now we are short of tradies. Sound familiar?

I'd wager that 99.5% of people who are here have no idea Merkle has made this trade off, and would get frustrated that they can't find something using the search bar. I understand the need to delegate things, but accessibility shouldn't be one of them IMO.

Definitely room for Improvement on discoverability. The fact that searching just normal casts is offloaded to Buoy is troubling IMO.

“Promise of future potential” is just another way of saying, carrot on a stick. It still depends on factors outside of the employees control. I say that knowing risk is involved in all of this, but I can see the same diluted shares playbook being used, where a promise is made up front, but that can still lead to several parties getting payouts before the employee does, if at all.
