i think @zinger made a good point about maybe the better path is not a global badge but local/personalized badges. relevancy to viewing user based on mutual follows

I think something in this direction makes the most sense, anything “objective” at the network level can be gamed (bots engaging with other bots) Making it viewer-based allows users to dictate their experience based on which users (and channels) they follow and interact with https://warpcast.com/zinger/0xf1e0fb5a

The problem with a network-wide “legitimacy badge” is that you’ll always need a source of truth to determine legitimacy by which doesn’t scale (like if you use pre-permissionless users as a baseline) I think per-channel badges with a graph based on the hosts’ follows + interactions could work though

Side note: I don’t think “active” is the right word to describe what we’re after here (at least not anymore), would be great to give the name a refresh with this next iteration
