This is the reality, take it from a builder Just because it's ~onchain~ doesn't mean people want to micro-piss money away all of a sudden on silly games Remember that most people still won't even pay $0.99 to download an app

What about paying a certain amount to play a game? Not to play to earn but to just play the game? That's the current model I have with my pinball arcade mini app where people pay a small amount to play a single game of pinball. It's tough because no one wants to piss away money abd just want to have fun, but a lot of app builders like me do want to turn something of a profit from what they build. I'm personally hoping I can turn it into a side gig that sustains me. How do you balance that?

100% agree. except on fc i'm more inclined to spend my rewards supporting builders in the ecosystem so it's an exception to the rule

Agreed. What I've seen it's usually people who want to see mini apps succeed that are willing to pay a premium to just do stuff, but that's a tiny TAM. They're like Apple Vision Pro users - they're there and just want something to do so they'll pay a premium. I think when you charge even 0.99 the bar for the experience gets a lot higher. And rightfully so, but for the "code as content" builders that turns having fun with content into building a full fledged product. And at least for me, that's not why i'm here. I'm here to have fun on the timeline and provide fun for others on the TL.

Agree. Whole circular economy we have on fc only exists because we get free money to play with and tipping at least gives social recognition. Doing txs in a random app does nothing other than *potential* airdrops which prob are not worth anything anyway
