as a user: mute without unfollowing and option to disable read receipts in DCs as a dev: ability to copy a cast hash

why mute without unfollowing? if you want to mute someone, why would you still want to follow them?

I have great DMs with folks on FC who are playing _very_ different social games on WC than I do. Mute without unfollow keeps the conversation on WC which is a net-positive for the platform imo.

Hell, on this note, I’d love it if it if WC had a signifier that told the user I’d muted them, so they know I still want to follow them but their social games on WC are not amusing and I don’t approve or want to see it on my timeline

and it'd be useful if people could see aggregated, anonymized stats on how often ppl reported them, muted them, etc (all the actions that are non-public but have an effect on the social experience, really)

Ooo yea I really dig that. Honestly, an OSS qDAU report card would be great. I'd be so down for giving and receiving feedback like that lol. Opt-in/out so if you don't wanna play you don't have to, but I can then build a client that filters via that. Suddenly signal to noise on FC screams past Twitter for me.

just riffing... who opts in? maybe the most pretentious + insufferable christian rappers who opts out or ignores it? famous ppl who don't need the approval

Great questions! No idea if this would be useful but: 1. Could be run on anyone/everyone based on publicly available data. Anything not publicly available, opt-ins contribute to. 2. Opt-in is the report on yourself and/or utilizing the data to filter content.

Basically solving for two different things tho: Personally: I want to be a better FC but also, I want to filter out all content that I don't care about.

would be a fascinating experiment to track the efficacy of "big" data versus opt-in data (skin in the game, biased, whatever you want to call it). Tangentially, do you remember the promised value of invite trees? Maybe now that the network is bigger, this info becomes a better filter?
