engagement farming via questions is totally ok

We’ve been through the “engagement farming” debate before when the network was small and the only incentive for asking questions was to get on the highlight tab.

In all seriousness, it's a bit hard if you squint, but still distinguishable between value-adding engagement and value-extracting engagement.

The roughest thing I've seen with the new system is founder time being wasted by meaningless requests for clarification.

If a question is thoughtful and adds value to the conversation for either the OP or other participants, does it matter if it was incentivized financially or not?

I lean towards "no", but my bar for adding value is pretty high. 

Even in this thread, a reply or like from you is worth something, but I could never move myself to engage simply for the financial incentive. I care about my time and life too much. But that's me.
