We’ve been through the “engagement farming” debate before when the network was small and the only incentive for asking questions was to get on the highlight tab. Now that financial incentives like Moxie exist: What do you think? https://warpcast.com/les/0xc61f63e6 https://warpcast.com/v/0xa83219b6

2 things are true: - inauthentic question baiting generally results in bad content - a lot of people still love to shove bad content straight into their faceholes same as it ever was 🤷‍♂️

yep, there will be a lot of legitimate questions/commentsry and a lot of farming, not sure best way to solve this other than each individual who might be getting farmed use their best judgement

No no, what do you think? I think farming engagement is a great thing. And if we can be paid for our curiosity why the heck not!?

Reading through this thread and you got farmed twice by prolific farmers here. Moxie needs better marketing and heuristics

Incentives and how they align aren't inherently bad. we'll see how things develop but it's hard to discern much of the engagement farming from the tipping meta era than from the moxie casting era. Interesting content gets engagement, boring begging engagement like content usuaslly doesn't

For me I think it's okay since like me, I am new to Web3 and I wanted to learn more. When I find a cast about which topic is something new to me I usually ask questions. But sometimes I do not get any response so I always try to look for an answer so that when someone asks the same question then I can help them and provide the answer which can possibly make their day since they dont even have to search for it.

It just feels weird.. Now I mostly don't even engage seemingly top guys posts.. I don't wanna be presumed a dick sucker lol.. Jumping from one interesting chat to the other was a thing I love.. The purple app is where I make new friends and just flow with the vibe. It's fun seeing the liveness all around anyway

asking questions is literally how human beings get to know each other, it's all about legitimate authenticity

I think there will be two flows. 1. Someone wants to increase his influence by raising his social ranking 2. Just an approach (e.g., induction questions, etc.) to get the attention of high-ranking people For #1, it's not easy if he is not a real builder or creator. But if he can, it's the best way. So I think most of them will work with #2. This will only give we access to casts of people with higher social rankings and eventually bury the quality posts of people with lower social rankings. I think other people with higher social ranks will need to try to find and share such quality articles. Also, I think they can judge and respond directly to the various questions and casting that approach them. I don't think other people should be involved in that. If these individual efforts are combined, i think society can expand properly even if it is engagement farming. I just said my opinion~

Really just depends on the questions being asked, a lot of the more recent engagement bait are just questions that are either self explanatory, or literally just things people should attempt googling first There’s nothing wrong with being genuinely curious, but it hard to just assume everyone is asking questions honestly when they’re doing it 25-100 times a day

I think people will likely get better at sussing out the people engagement farming with a question and those who are being genuine. For the most part at least. But, I am en eternal optimist also, so there's that.

There's an account abusing @degengate bot to gain moxie. They get around 6 moxie each cast and they make hundred casts each day.

I think it's only counted as farming if they purposely reply nonsense to each other. But who am I to judge.

However, there is also a risk that some people may only get involved for the financial reward and not out of interest or desire to contribute meaningfully. Therefore, it is important to balance financial incentives with other elements that promote quality engagement, such as a reward system that is based on the quality of contributions, not just quantity. Will this protocol exist in the future?
