It's an honor to be nominated a finalist for the Moxie Retro1 Grant. From Day 1, @moxiescout has been more than the just the project of a solo-dev. It's been a community build, only possible because the Farcaster Community has been so gracious, engaged, welcoming, and supportive. Truly, thank you ๐Ÿ™

Here in the comments, I'd like to tell a few stories and highlight some important people that shaped my journey to this point, about @moxiescout and also the other frames and apps that are part of my grant application. I imagine it'll be a mess, but hopefully fun to look back on later.

I first heard about Moxie from @wake.eth on his @alfafrens channel well ahead of release. He said something to the tune of "do not fade Moxie" and I listened. Read the docs a few days early, started building, and released the first viral Moxie frame and cast action (MoxieRank) shortly after. Thank you, @wake.eth (you should join his AlfaFrens channel, it's still so good) https://warpcast.com/zeni.eth/0x351cd006 https://www.alfafrens.com/channel/0x35594acfed507027a32d7d05dc77015703a1bb8c

@pirosb3 is the co-founder of my favorite FC tool, @bountycaster, and also bought the moxiescout.xyz domain for me out of the blue so it wouldn't get nabbed by someone else. He also was the first 1 year subscriber to the my Hybersub. Not only a skilled builder, but just a really fantastic person.

I first found out about @zoz.eth when the DEGEN locking season started and he put in like 14 million ๐Ÿคฏ We got to know each other as I was building out my initial moxie tools and he became one of my strongest early supporters, including putting a huge position in my fan token during the initial auction. I also borrowed his "invest your airdrop in the network token" strategy to great effect. I look to @zoz.eth to know if I'm on the right track, and he's been gracious every time.

@moxiescout has a super sick logo, and that's to @wakkin, who I worked with via @bountycaster. I don't know if he's looking for more work or not, but if he is, you should hire him. (s/o to @linda, @pirosb3, and @saxenasaheb for adding to the bounty pool) https://warpcast.com/wakkin/0x1cb42a06 https://warpcast.com/zeni.eth/0x1b7529ae

MoxieScout and my other tools often need red-teaming. That is, someone to go in there and try to break things so that I can make the systems more robust. Fortunately, @fibo112358.eth is the best incidental red-teamer I've ever met. He has the almost comical ability to break nearly everything I make, and then be extremely patient as I try to fix things. Thanks for all of the help ๐Ÿ™

Before the Moxie launch, @pichi was hosting a Power Hour and @sleepypenguin.eth told me that there was a bit of misunderstand re how rewards would be distributed I joined the call and @pichi was gracious enough to give me a chance to speak, which is where I got to know @zachlipp and a bunch of other community members that have been so supportive https://warpcast.com/pichi/0xcaeddac7 https://warpcast.com/leeknowlton.eth/0x8fe9f1fa

So @moxiescout doesn't actually earn any Moxie, which made some parts of the grant application a bit difficult to apply for. Fortunately, the community has been _so_ good about supporting me that it wasn't hard to find testimonials to include. This is the one from @zachlipp that I included in my education grant application. "I just minted an on-chain subscription to MoxieScout.xyz by @zeni.eth on Hypersub!...Have you ever heard him speak in an audio space? He can break down complex systems in a way that a baby could understand them."

This application also includes the Open Source Moxie Demo Frame I made. This was actually my first Open Source repo since nearly all of my coding work before was private. @gambino225 took the bull by the horns and used pieces of it to build a super popular frame. Can't imagine a better result. https://github.com/leeknowlton/moxie-demo-frame

When I was first working on MoxieRank, my first Moxie frame, @web3designer came in and did a design breakdown to help me make it look cleaner. He's so good, I could go on and on. Fun story...apparently he was trying to show me the distance with the red squiggly lines in his design feedback, but I didn't know so I had some red SVG lines added as part of the background ๐Ÿ˜‚

I've had a ton of support from the wonderful Japanese community on here. @saxophone55.eth did the initial Dune dashboard that I used for MoxieRank and @moxiescout, and @kenjiquest invited me to go the Japanese radio show and muddle through explaining my tools. @anco also has recasted my work basically every single day. Consistently developing on here while raising my son hasn't been easy, but she's been there to support every step.

I don't know if they remember, but @maretus.eth and @degen-chad played important roles in the development of the FanSpace (myspace throwback) frame, which was also part of this application. Maretus was the genesis of the idea, and degen-chad's profile picture not working correctly despite (and him being in so many people's Top 8) is what gave me the idea for including Tom from Myspace as a placeholder image. Pretty sure that decision 10xd the virility. Thanks guys! https://warpcast.com/zeni.eth/0xae823e60

I'm not an OG and, frankly, don't really fit or know how to use most social media. Fortunately for me and for @moxiescout, I met @burrrrrberry here and Warpcast and we kept in touch on AlfaFrens. I learned a lot about how to communicate the value of my work from her. Build-in-public threads? Constant launch updates? These ideas came out of conversations with and lessons from Burr ๐Ÿ™ (you should join her AlfaFrens channel)

I've enjoyed working with the whole @moxie.eth team. I had my first call early on with @alexcomeau and have gotten to know @betashop.eth and @ipeciura.eth over DMs and community calls. But I have to shout out @yosephks.eth, who is S-tier developer relations. He's so fast, so knowledgeable, and so consistent. It almost feels like having another person on my team. Can't even count the number of times he's unblocked me with some sort of technical issue, reviewed my code to help me debug, or asked the team to make something new just for me.

My first premium feature for the Moxiescout Hypersub was buy/sell notifications. When my account needed to get unblocked, @sayangel and @downshift.eth helped me get in touch with the team same day to get things fixed. Getting unblocked quickly to keep momentum going is so crucial. Grateful for this.

Besides being the reason I joined Farcaster in the first place, @nateliason gave me the clutch advice to go as deeply into crypto as possible if I wanted to be a part of the space. I've operated on this advice from the moment I heard it and it's paid off very well so far.

I launched a hypersub as a way to cover the tech costs of running MoxieScout and thanks to a wonderful group of early backers, have been able to do so. @saxophone55.eth, @jarrettr, @staraptor.eth, @saxenasaheb, and @demipoet all signed up on the day I launched it, and @anco, @sohe, @trebor69, @alexcomeau joined very shortly after. Appreciate you all believing in me and even supporting me with your own money.

You deserve to be in a tier of your own, maybe Ultimate Finalists. No disrespect to the other finalists but Moxiescout was a huge build. Iโ€™ve had multiple conversations with the team and when they didnโ€™t have a solution themselves, they always recommended Moxiescout and of course you came through.

And also I will never forget a repository that you created, namely about moxie frame template I learned a lot from there and since that day I was able to build the frame that had been in my mind all this time And because of that, I can upgrade my laptop to meet the needs of other programming languages! ๐Ÿค๐Ÿซ‚ You deserve moxie-heroes forever and also deserve to be included in the retro moxie finalists! Thanks Zeniii!
