@sayangel
When was the first time you tried /vr? What hardware? What experience?

There was an Air New Zealand installment at the Auckland Museum when I was living there. Quite a while back, but I remember being awestruck by how encompassing it felt (it also used a camera to create your clothes, etc.). The pixellation took me out of the experience a bit, but overall stuck with me. Still haven't owned any sets yet, though.

I think so, yeah. So when you looked down you'd see your clothes, skin color, etc. Turns out it was back in 2014, but still, super memorable. Just found the case study: https://waxeye.co.nz/work/air-nz-virtual-flight-lab

I'm from the States, but lived in NZ about 10 years before moving back to Japan this last year. It's a third home.

Very cool! I ask because over the years working in VR I've met a disproportionate number of programmers from NZ who are really good at 3D graphics. My company's core rendering tech is called the Wellington Engine because it was primarily developed by smart kiwis. There's something in the water down there...
