I bought a dk2 and tried everything I could find. Built a couple games and won a big hackathon for one of the earlier networked vr + mobile async multiplayer games.

There was an Air New Zealand installment at the Auckland Museum when I was living there. Quite a while back, but I remember being awestruck by how encompassing it felt (it also used a camera to create your clothes, etc.). The pixellation took me out of the experience a bit, but overall stuck with me. Still haven't owned any sets yet, though.

My first real experience, first gen HTC Vive. First experiences were interesting but not entirely captivating, Fallout 4 in VR and maybe a couple other things.. It wasn’t captivating until i got the Valve Index and Half Life: Alyx. That’s when I knew we were closer than ever to something amazing.

Quest 2, friend demo, mind blown but was disappointed with the pixelated resolution. Still, mind blown.

I don't quite remember the hardware by my first experience was almost 10 years ago now at a Game of Thrones exhibition where they let you stand (and fall) off the top of The Wall haha. I got that pit in my stomach while falling and have always loved the tech since.
