Why do you think we should limit rebuilds to their original size? My gut says this is silly and we should let people rebuild what they want, but curious to hear your perspective

the exec order is suspending the need to pull certain permits when rebuilding your home permits feel prudent if you’re trying to build something substantially different

Hear you I generally believe it’s difficult to build in California because of the number of permits needed and the process you have to go through to get them I’m all for removing red tape, but seems to me like Newsom is *saying* he’ll remove red tape while keeping most of it intact Also feels like it sends a weird message - that California *can* remove its red tape in other times, but has chosen/continues to choose not to

palisades area is incredibly dense neighborhoods, homes side by side (which was a part of why it was so devastating) i don’t think it’s unreasonable to say that you shouldn’t be able to build something that wouldn’t make sense in your neighborhood, whereas the previous homes were all zoned and vetted
