I think upping my protein intake and maintaining a good weightlifting routine helped. I'm not the strongest I've been for sure but I'm still lifting at solid multiples of my weight per exercise.

"Muscle loss" when cutting is a meme unless you're getting diced into single digit bodyfat. There's no cut I've ever done in which I've lost muscle. I've had minor temporary strength loss, but it rebounds almost immediately.
