got a referral for therapy but getting an appointment and being assigned to a therapist will take 4-6 months.

In America the situation: 

1. Good therapists ≠ take insurance 
2. The ones that do are pill farmers 
3. Avg session $200 - 400 / hour

Mental health treatment:

1. Chemical - Fix with drugs 
2. Physical - Fix with diet & exercise
3. Emotional - Words / CBT / EMDR

Implication is wealthy Americans can afford mental health treatments.
