Sol is a great execution layer, makes zero sense as a settlement layer running on bare-metal nodes rented at datacenters Excited for innovation the SVM will bring to Ethereum L2s like Eclipse next year.

So the argument is, because validation on Solana requires large amounts of compute, the entry requirements are too high for credible neutrality?

Beyond just the node requirement (although that's a big one) Multi-client architecture A culture of refining towards making the base layer as censorship-resistant as possible Solana is far behind eth on this, and actively laughs at some of these ideals
