I’m always confused by v competent people who are incredible at using analytic tools to tease out really interesting charts, but also have no intuitive sense of what data is actually important or useful

Not very competent but I feel like regular users of a product or the creators of a product have a better sense of what data is really important for their own product because they understand their own needs better.

Another point - certain stuff starts seeming obvious/too easy once you become really good at your craft(not necessarily data). So really competent workers ignore this stuff because they believe that it's obvious/easy. But sometimes these obvious insights are the useful ones.
