I’m always confused by v competent people who are incredible at using analytic tools to tease out really interesting charts, but also have no intuitive sense of what data is actually important or useful

Not very competent but I feel like regular users of a product or the creators of a product have a better sense of what data is really important for their own product because they understand their own needs better.

It's like having a friend who's a map expert but gets lost because they focus too much on details. In data analysis, tech skills matter, but so does knowing which data points lead to valuable insights.
