And if just a handful of additional people realized decentralization is important, and also realize how centralized alternatives are (SOL, exchange-held defi, etc), then it could add more interest in ETH

Solana is not centralized. That's as hyperbolic as BTC maxis claiming ETH is centralized. All maxis are myopic and hyperbolic.
