Zippy's is a restaurant chain that was founded back in 1966 and a staple here locally. When I moved away this is the stuff that I missed the most. Plate lunches, traditionally a variety of meat, 2 scoops rice, a scoop of Macaroni salad are part of our local culture. 

This is pic is something called a Zip Pac, teri beef, spam, fried mahi mahi and fried chicken on a bed of rice and furikake. A perfect reflection of home because of the hodgepodge of ethnic influences. What's the dish/dishes in your hometown that you crave da most?

Honolulu has gone through a lot of development, but as a whole the state doesn't change that much. Part of its charm. Lots of new development during the real estate boom. Depends on how long its been since you were on island.
