maybe I need to look at some examples of this section

the opinion section will be opinionated in support of free markets/personal liberties

they will not publish pieces that run counter to those views (e.g. a piece advocating for more regulation in those areas)

this is counter to previous state where opinion sections are mostly unbiased and publish a wide range of views/opinions

It means the opinion pages will now only express his opinions.

It means that his definition of free speech is to only write within the confines of his definition of free speech. In short, it is a contradiction.

Bezos is following Zuckerberg's lead in shifting to a Libertarian position. I think they believe this will help shield them from America's shift to the right without totally alienating their allies on the left. It's very calculated.
