While it's great that the auto-follow list is no more, the damage has already been done in that any (off-the-shelf) influence-driven algorithm will heavily skew to favor accounts that were on that list.. unless proper adjustments have been made

This "early influencers" feedback loop bias gets propagated and reinforced in pretty much all algos.

I'm glad the auto-follow is gone, even if just for the fact now I can continue to onboard people without them complaining their feed is full of stuff they don't care about and leaving shortly after.
