I wonder how many newbies to Degen chain will get drained or scammed this season from stuff like this... Also wondering how many will just give up 😿 Don't get me wrong, I'm all for getting more people into Degen chain, but this "forced intro" might cause too much friction and backfire?

Yeah, it’s really rude to have forced everyone to deal with things suddenly being on a chain they aren’t familiar with and having to figure out how to not only unwrap (because it’s easy to get scammed by fake DEXs) but also how to bridge (which are also notorious for not working well or getting hacked even if they aren’t fake, not to mention waiting 7 days to get money out the other side is nerve wracking). At the very least they should have provided links to everything legitimate, including the contract addresses so people could see wdegen in their wallets. in the announcement thread that they “helpfully” airdropped the claims. It feels so manipulative, especially trying to make it seem like they did us a favor sparing gas when it will cost more in the end to unwrap and bridge than to just claim on Base like before.

Agreed. I'm not a newbie, but I'm juggling a million things while dealing with a death in the family and that demands a lot of my attention, so I simply don't have *any* spare bandwidth to figure out things like this. Not even going to bother. Crypto has so many things like this that add extra friction, time, effort, and risk. Wish more projects would follow Moxie's example and set things up so it's possible to earn in the background, slowcore-style! Also wish I could just donate ALL my tips (in all tokens) in one simple click to @thecurioushermit for her cat sanctuary.
