Love your feedback. Working on a completely new feature that Signal can’t do: Off The Record™️ mode in Convos.org The problem with messengers today is that they are all tied to your phone number or username. Single identifier. Disappearing messages don’t matter when you can just screenshot or record anything. With XMTP, you can have infinite identities w/ different keys. The protocol also is Signal level secure. But… True privacy means nothing to screenshot. Nothing to record. No metadata to see. Protecting your information and tone so you don’t have to share your number or name to connect with someone. Just a QR code. You choose how you show up. Someone a creep? Delete em, they have no info on you. Theres a new foundation for privacy. Encryption is not enough. It’s not disappearing messages, it’s about disappearing everything and protecting my identity. What do you think of this?

HOLY SHIT... In < 4 minutes, I just made an @xmtp inbox using @tryoharaai by simply typing the prompt "Build a decentralized chat inbox app using the XMTP SDK" This is my first attempt; but it even resolved errors when creating the inbox. Early, but wow. What's possible 🤯

Our DMs and group chats (often-times our most private communications) are locked in single points of failure. We don't control: ❌ The app ❌ The encryption ❌ The server Decentralized messaging means we own and control our conversations, the way we own and control our money.

Here’s how it works. In XMTP V3, history transfer happens device-to-device: 1. A user requests to transfer messages to a new device 2. Their other XMTP app generates a PIN or QR code 3. The user confirms or scans the code on the new device 4. Their messages are transferred 2/3

Very cool story from @shanemac.eth on XMTP dev call today. Exactly 9 years ago to the day, he was helping build the first transaction in Facebook Messanger (it was for 1-800-Flowers) Looking back, two huge things were missing: 1. Not enough of the group chat had wallet. 2. AI natural language not good enough. It's all converging right now. Seeing what is going to happen with XMTP in Coinbase Wallet is VERY exciting. Stay tuned :)
