Privacy coins didn’t pick up because we don’t use coins with fluctuating prices for payments at scale. Stablecoins won that one easily. So we’re left with implementing privacy tech for chains with the most stablecoin volume.

Begs the question when we will bring back the vision of ditching the us dollar completely

I’d say there’s no other way than pricing the asset in the native coin. So for now you’re limited to digitally native assets. And the only asset group that comes to mind where that was the case are NFTs. Oh and maybe gas as well
