Creating an upcoming online event series for Palace Path and using Luma! Didn’t realized this was a favourite platform in the defi space as well. But also low key frustrated with it because I can’t duplicate an event!

Favourite set I’ve done independently was Star Trek Discovery season 3 - Suk’al’s Lair, specifically the steps, inspired by Indian step wells! Crazy build.

Ohh good Q! This was earlier in my career and I had a small role in what was very much a team effort, but I absolutely loved the grandeur, intricacy, and idiosyncrasy of Hargreaves’ living room in Umbrella Academy. That was wild!

You also have the benefit of “wilding” walls (being able to remove a wall(s) so that you can set up a camera for a particular shot or allow for easier crew access). It’s so much easier than shooting on location. But stage sets often mimic / reproduce real locations.

There are a lot of benefits to stage sets, but a big plus is lighting control. “IRL” you have to film a scene quickly or else the changing light will look strange (if there’s sun streaming in for the first half of a scene but then a sunset or darkness for the second half of the scene, it breaks the continuity).

Hey! Ex Star Trek set designer here. 🙋‍♀️ *most* interiors you see (and a lot of exteriors) on big tv shows and movies are built on a sound stage.

Palace Path is the entrepreneurial extension of my research on how spatial metaphors affect the mind. Our bodies understand abstract ideas through parallel embodied experiences. And so- metaphorical acts allow us to reprogram our minds.

Despite its reliance on new tech (spatial computing), Palace Path should feel grounded in the feeling of rediscovering ancient relics.
