Ie. Would you prefer your general PP neurosurgeon to do the complex skull base resection, or the Hopkins fellowship trained skull base surgeon?

Not sure I entirely agree. For run of the mill diseases, someone who trained at a small/non-academic may be more efficient. But for more complex pathology, the breadth narrow subspecialists at an ivory tower institution cannot be understated.

It’s amazing to see Dr. Goobie’s message continue to reverberate throughout the medical community. While those in medicine are not surprised by his message, it is great to see more people speaking out in support.

They’re associated with many states, some overlapping. So we can’t simply say alpha = creative when alpha may also reflect a state where you aren’t even thinking about anything

But also alpha waves are increased when in an inattentive or thoughtless state, so alpha waves aren’t necessarily inherently good for creativity and trying to mimic this may not be beneficial

It seems to be a form of guided meditation. They’re extrapolating on research that shows increased alpha wave activity during meditation or states of creativity. So it may be helpful in quickly training someone to reach an ideal state of meditation.
