Your answer got me thinking about reinvention. If you were looking to pivot mid-career while balancing stability and creative fulfillment, how would you approach it?
For context: I spent several of my formative years in the US military, and when it came time to decide whether to re-enlist, I read Robert Frost’s 'The Road Not Taken' one too many times and chose a different path.
I cut ties with the government, moved alone to Eastern Europe, and spent a decade in finance. While there, I met my wife, had a house built (that I can no longer visit due to geopolitical reasons), and our son was born. When he was about a year old, I took a corporate role in the Middle East for three years. Then, nearly a decade ago, I returned to the US as that job wound down.
