When ethereum launched it felt like the most important technology since the world wide web and I dropped out of grad school. The only other technology that felt equally impactful was fusion energy. If I wasn't doing this I'd probably still be working at LANL

That's fascinating, thanks for the thoughtful response. Now, for the hard question: Your answer got me thinking about reinvention. If you were looking to pivot mid-career while balancing stability and creative fulfillment, how would you approach it? For context: I spent several of my formative years in the US military, and when it came time to decide whether to re-enlist, I read Robert Frost’s 'The Road Not Taken' one too many times and chose a different path. I cut ties with the government, moved alone to Eastern Europe, and spent a decade in finance. While there, I met my wife, had a house built (that I can no longer visit due to geopolitical reasons), and our son was born. When he was about a year old, I took a corporate role in the Middle East for three years. Then, nearly a decade ago, I returned to the US as that job wound down. (1/2)
