A book club but instead of reading books we watch movies and the first movie is THE LAST REDEMPTION starring Kevin Sorbo.

Not a bad year for movies as five good ones were released: BIRD, LOVE LIES BLEEDING, A DIFFERENT MAN, THE APPRENTICE, ANORA. Honorable mention: SHARP CORNER.

Well done. I think Baker pulled off the whole running around the city thing better in TANGERINE. The first and third acts of ANORA were the best for me, and that last scene really stuck the landing. 623 $DEGEN

Hugh Grant is, and has always been, money. He stole every scene from Hopkins in REMAINS OF THE DAY. He made a dozen bullshit romantic comedies watchable. He was the best part of D&D. He was the only good part of that dumb Pop Tarts movie. And now he has saved HERETIC from ending up in the garbage bin of horror history.

Joaquin Phoenix's portrayal of himself in I'M STILL HERE is not only his finest performance as an actor, it is among the greatest performances ever by any actor. He quite literally destroyed his own life to make this movie and it was completely worth it. This film needs to be acknowledged as the masterpiece it is.

I was looking for a painfully earnest modern film noir starring a former heartthrob that now looks like Rob Schneider and Prime Video gave me KILLER HEAT.
