Joaquin Phoenix's portrayal of himself in I'M STILL HERE is not only his finest performance as an actor, it is among the greatest performances ever by any actor. He quite literally destroyed his own life to make this movie and it was completely worth it. This film needs to be acknowledged as the masterpiece it is.

I am yet to see another film recommended by you. Although this one is already on the list, so that's something. 

In the actors portraying themselves in films list, where does it rate? Obviously JCVD is number 1.

Ok then it must be good. I still haven't seen red rocket by the way, although I did watch the trailer and it reminded me of Harmony Korine stuff, sort of similar aesthetic. It reminded me of something else as well, but I'm not sure what. My brain's gone to mush after having kids. I'll make an effort and try to watch these when I've got some free time. Cheers for the degen by the way.
