With its 2024 return to the Casino, the Festival will host a tasteful blend of icons & new authors of music's history. Imagine Dionne Warwick, Yussef Dayes, Masego, or Thee Sacred Soul performing at the same venue that Deep Purple wrote about in "Smoke On the Water", the one where James Brown & Marvin Gaye performed.

With a tradition of recording every performance of the musical geniuses and newcomers they're welcoming, the Swiss festival now holds the memory of not only jazz but every genre it ever welcomed on its stage, and diving into its archive catalog is breathtaking.

Since its early days, the Montreux Jazz Festival has recorded every performance it can and has become, over the years, the sole guardian of music's memory—sometimes even holding rare recordings of musicians whose performances weren't put on tape due to discrimination.

A few meters further down the lake, the Montreux Jazz Festival will return to the Casio, where its legend began with names such as Ella Fitzgerald and Nina Simone—the list is such a travel through music history that it feels odd to name only them. History doesn't stop here.

The list of names that will give you that wow effect is so long that I don't even know where to start. With acts like Diana Krall, Janelle Monáe, and Massive Attack bringing their universe to the Lake Stage, it's hard not to imagine an upcoming Summer of great music.
