Pionniers of the genre, their hit "Walking in Rhythm" seduced a broad audience, while their "Rock Creek Park" became a favorite of hip-hop sampling art. It's no surprise if their sound became a classic: the Blackbyrds' harmonies blend jazz's elegance with funk's energy in the classiest gesture.
