is the address 0x0000000000000000000000000000000000000000 just a normal address that is used by convention or specially handling?

afaik just a normal address, but i totally expect some gigabrain guy who knows a lot of facts about horses to prove me wrong

I'm 90% sure it's not part of the specification, so it's a normal address... But also I suspect that at least some of the client implementations (maybe accidentally) check for it, so I'm not certain that a transaction *from* 0x0 would actually pass consensus today.
