one of my 2025 New Year's resolutions was to max up my fiction reading i'm about to finish "Kafka on the Shore" by Haruki Murakami, it's guite good he has such a talent for blending reality and deep human insights with the magical and surreal, i love his style what should i read next?

Heart of a Dog by Bulgakov. Soviet Kafka. Kinda wild, quite short.

I love themed explorations, so I'll probs pick up Kafka on the Shore to keep the surrealism train running.

have you read his 1Q84? if you don't mind longer reads i highly recommend, it's his opus and prob in my top 3 all time favs personally. superb book. Kafka on the Shore is a lil shorter but still his signature style, i've enjoyed it a lot and it's def a mindfuck

I prefer longer reads if I can get the audiobook and just soak in it. 1Q84 has def been on my list, I'll see what the library has available...
