One of the main design criteria for DAOs is that their governance must lead to divergence in powers. If the design is convergent — for example continuous accumulation of power by specific parties —, eventually this means stagnation and then death.

Oh I don’t think that’s what I’m trying to say. Here’s another take: Any system that attempts to reach a specific state (eg complete distribution of goods in equal manner or complete consolidation, or any specific in between) is convergent. Divergent means it does not reach a specific state (no known limit)
