I can go first - I ended up running 100 miles with just a backpack and no support team in 19 hours in the British countryside during Covid. Story below! Cont...

I started running in March 2020 (I was going insane in lockdown) then signed up for this 4-day 184 mile race called the Thames Challenge in Aug 2020. 2 weeks before the race it gets cancelled. One day in August, I got a train to Oxford wearing the clothes I’d run back in and stayed overnight in a hotel, then run back in the morning. I finished the 100 miles at ~3am in the middle of nowhere outside of London and just stopped and ordered an Uber home. 🤣 Okay - now who is next?!

Damn that’s awesome, sounds like a blast. Did you bring any music or podcasts? I’ve never done a run beyond a marathon and even then I needed something to listen to 😂

I listened to 3 audiobooks because the time went by a lot faster when I got lost in a narrative. Funnily enough, I listened to Never Give Up by David Goggins describing how terrible his first 100 miler was (i.e. lost control of bowels, delirious, bloody feet) and I though "this isn't so bad in comparison" 🤣

I started listening to music in the last 20 miles because I ran out of audiobooks - it was definitely worse - my brain just kept thinking "when is this over" on repeat
