I enjoy so many of the people on Farcaster but it seems fundamentally broken. It just doesn't make sense to turn a social network into a weekly audition for a chance to be seen and heard. Professional engagement farmers have the right idea I guess. They seem to be thriving.

I try to forget about that side of the app. I’m simply socializing at this point and having fun doing it. My rank has significantly improved but that’s just a reflection of my engagement here

I about lost my mind wondering why I couldn’t be where I thought I should be here but then saw some of my friends casting #s and engagement. Thousands of cast daily. I’m not able to do that. More power to those who can. I found if I focus on anything other than building relationships, I was less inclined to engage.

Yeah, that's the approach to take, for sure. I let it bother me too much because I don't understand it as a business model and hate all the implications of an algorithmic caste system.

If I'm going to stay I just need to accept it and try to happily vibe in my little corner with the cool people I've met.
