parents want to give me 10% of their home sale "because they felt they did me dirty" when i was growing up, as if that would fix anything when i lived with them, they changed the locks in their house without telling me bc they thought my wife was stealing from them. i moved out after that they have never apologized

I highly recommend VEG Williamsburg, btw. They are excellent and did not bullshit us. When we told them our vet recommended putting in a feeding tube and that he needed to go through radiation therapy, they were willing to have the real talk I was looking to have Our experience with Animal Medical Center, supposedly the top hospital in NYC was fucking awful. While they have the expertise, the whole experience was impersonal and it felt like they just wanted to put us through the money ringer + teach their residents

looks like i'm gonna spend my whole holiday break at various animal hospitals 👍 my cat also bit someone and got put in rabies protocol. if he dies in the next ten days, DOH is taking his body 👍 my mom also called to tell me my 80 year old dad fell multiple times and is sleeping a lot + peeing everywhere and they're too dumb to go to the hospital 👍 welp

last new years eve I was in the animal ER bc my cat swallowed a needle this christmas eve I'm in the animal ER bc my 17 year old cat has a respiratory illness that doesn't seem like it's going away so we're preparing for the worsd this is an expensive and stressful holiday tradition forming

i think the framework has promise, but think it's just nerd larp right now bc of what it represents atm they do not currently provide a laptop that matches the performance + weight + quality of this. this shit is 3.3lbs and 0.6 inches thick. there are also some kings propping up the asus ecosystem for linux: https://asus-linux.org/

After using this for 11 months I have given up on this setup bc: 1. linux/arm64 causes continual friction that doesn't exist for mac/arm64 because of rosetta. Many apps do not release linux/arm64 builds or they are borked with little support 2. i hate fedora and don't want to increase the chance of running into issues with running linux on mac by using arch I didn't go back to a thinkpad which I've used for over 20 years, but have switched over to an ASUS Zephyrus G14 which has excellent Linux support
