Not sure why so many of your replies are condescending instead of sharing helpful info

sharing info doesn't change people's opinion why try what doesn't work https://blog.borodutch.com/cardiovascular-diseases-dont-kill-as-many-people-as-stupidity/

Feels like most people don’t have an opinion tho, and want to be convinced by a compelling perspective

but to address the case in point: see how @pugson *already has an opinion* and he was precisely the person whom i answered that i'm not going to try to change it i'm only replying with this to people with opinions like "haha i don't care about my privacy" sorry for your loss bro, or happy for you — you do you

i have an opinion: most likely this will not affect me in any meaningful way given what i know about targeted ads, but my trust in durov is disappearing with such developments. but i would like to hear your point of view on this topic — someone who uses and recommends facebook VR products.

me using meta products and investing in them has no connection to what i'm saying or to validity of what i'm saying if a drug-addict that just robbed someone tells you to jump away from a falling piano — you'd better jump away or if a smoker tells you not to smoke — you're still better off not smoking

yeah i'm not questioning the validity because it's true. it has a connection in my mind because you're freaking out about telegram being bad while using products of a company that has a proven track record to be even worse when it comes to breaching privacy. the question is why, if you advocate for privacy this much?

this connection is completely manufactured and invalid, unless you see this we can't have a productive discussion and if we can't have a productive discussion, there is no reason to continue it and waste each other's time

why do you think this connection is invalid? his pattern recognition tells him you have double standards, and so he tries to get clarity from you directly. and yet here you dodge a simple and totally valid question, using deflection and logical traps to shut down the conversation. guilty as charged?
