Fyi Gender was determined from Latin origins and the choice of Le or La is just a matter of pronounciation for most of the words Now French académie cowards try to « preserve the language » and argue about genders for Covid and bullshit but it’s just from Latin origins where the genre already existed and thru de transition from Latin to French le or la was just to make it easy to speak

I've often been fascinated by how they decide these things too. I'm learning Portuguese and things are often the opposite of what I think they might be.

The worst is we have the same thing in Spanish/Castellano and for almost 90% of everything we are in sync between both language and then out of nowhere the French change it up on us 😂
