Yeah, I was just shocked this morning when I woke up and my rainbow wallet was down $1500 from last night. I probably shouldn't keep half of my portfolio in degen and moxie. π

I understand what you meant by the losses offsetting the gains, but what does the second week of January have to do with it? I mean, I could sell some degen at a loss to offset my gains by Dec. 31. And I could rebuy the degen in 2025, correct? Or is there a wash sale rule for crypto too? Would I have to wait longer to rebuy it? Crypto taxes are so confusing.

Just my guess on when the bull finds its footing again, when enthusiasm returns. The alternative scenario is that the bull market doesnβt survive trumpism. In this case, I still expect bitcoin to outperform most other investment vehicles (inflation will resume and the Federal government will take a pro-bitcoin posture).

ah, I see. That makes sense. I hope the stock market stays low for early January too so I can buy some in my Roth and then it can feel free to go up forever. π I'm curious what will happen. I can't make predictions on that myself (not even going to try). Would be happy for bitcoin to go up too, but then I'll wish I had more of it. But when but it goes down, I think I have too much. π
