These are frightfully interrelated systems. So, yes, changes to the degen tipping incentive system will change farcaster participation from the protocol level /up/ -- this, in turn, will change how the subsequent algos process your social graph which will affect your rankings /everywhere/ tipping, scv, all dat stuff

Jacek changed the core incentive to participate in farcatser, and concentrated it on the top 1000 most successful farcasters. That's big. Real big. It will change $DEGEN market performance, farcaster's DAU trend, the KIND of content that surfaces... everything. Will take time to settle, find equilibirum.

For sure! I remember hearing rumblings of art-specific clients (can't recall the names ATM), which should do really well for the OP's use cases. The distribution struggle might remain, but the focus could make up for it. Thousand true fans, etc.
