How are casts into channels distributed nowadays? Who sees them? Context is I have a couple friends that have joined and am wondering if/when i should tell them to post in channels or their timeline. For example, questions about /frames-v2, /los-angeles takes, snippets for /dev.

just goes out to your followers only distribution bump (extremely minor) is if someone checks the channel page

do you think this is the right model long term or just not a priority to re-think channels atm? i assume the latter but worth asking explicitly

How do you know what is a good cast vs. not?

i mean .. i feel like you could write multiple ML phds on that and still not know but, have rough proxies for a user's affinity for users, channels show first to some people who have high affinity for ~user&channel, to the extent possible propagate engagement + boost og cast if engagement exceeds expectations

We’ve tried a bunch of large scale A/B and they always performed worse than just who you follow and those signals. Maybe worth revisiting.
