How are casts into channels distributed nowadays? Who sees them? Context is I have a couple friends that have joined and am wondering if/when i should tell them to post in channels or their timeline. For example, questions about /frames-v2, /los-angeles takes, snippets for /dev.

Direct questions: 1. If I cast into a channel, will followers of that channel see itโeven if they don't follow me? 2. If I cast into a channel my followers do not follow, will my followers still see the cast? [i suspect there's algo stuff but asking generally]

Dan said casting outside channels or in channels have the same distribution, imo it doesnโt really matter but if what youโre casting about is exteremly topic centric better to cast in the appropriate channel

just goes out to your followers only distribution bump (extremely minor) is if someone checks the channel page

Channels on Warpcast are just tags. The following feed only shows casts from people you follow. The home feed can show casts from people you donโt follow if theyโre posted in channels you follow, but itโs unclear if that applies to all casts or just some. Would be nice if Warpcast had clearer docs on this

The reason I tell new people to cast into channels: 1. Mostly your followers see your casts. You donโt have many when new. Better chances someone scrolls the channel (if itโs a small good community) and sees you that way. 2. You canโt get a spam label casting and replying into channels. New people get spam labels very easily.
