appreciate this video. I will push back on the idea that, past a certain scale, it doesn't affect others: - fc ux/culture has, imo, struggled under the hyperfinancialized influence of memecoins at various times in the past. The ongoing bot/spam jihad may or may not be related - first impressions matter, and from a regulatory / broad cultural awareness perspective, i don't think the industry is set up for success when "the casino" is the first contact outsiders have with crypto. To be dramatic, it would be like if MLMs were the face of capitalism or ponzis the face of investing (instead of the invisible hand and property rights and pooling capital to share risk etc) ofc i think some of the community stuff is genuinely interesting and not all MCs are created equal. My respect for a token and its community is roughly inversely proportional to how much their discourse and culture are focused on "number go up"

still committed to weekly writing & shipping for the next 10+y, but that doesn't mean i have to pretend to like or cheerlead every thing that happens in this space, especially when I think it detracts from the incredible fundamentals. By virtue of being permissionless (perhaps our greatest asset), there will simply be a lot of trash/scams and imo MCs end up with a disproportionate amount and it is what it is
