what are the most important parts to decentralize?

Hmm, I believe compute is quite important, but truly decentralizing it is challenging. I'm pretty sure that most people who contributed A100s and such to DEPIN projects are actually doing so through a centralized cloud service.

Yeah, it's not exclusive to AI only. But I think there's a point to consider: if you operate a decentralized AI network and the whole system runs on AWS, can it truly be considered decentralized?

I have the same question regarding most blockchain networks as well.

what is the big problem we are trying to solve with decentralizing compute specific to ai though? outside of downtime, which is a UX related problem
