if you had to only eat food from one cuisine for the rest of your life, what cuisine would it be? 

(obv an artificial and implausible situation — but this question is probably the best one i've come across for clarifying what kinds of food i really enjoy. it is very effective at cutting through hype and trend)

they are so good

i changed my mind about beans when i tried them cooked from dry, and from freshly dried beans. almost any shelling bean is magnificent, and then there are some very good ones

if from a can, they're pretty meh
