tho dovetail seems too high friction to be easily and repeatedly reversible! (the japanese wood trad probably has some brilliant existing solutions to this problem? )

Last week I did a detailing workshop with some architecture grad students and one had a design for a small building made of 2x4s with dovetail joints that could be assembled, disassembled, and moved with minimal waste. Old pole barn type but with 2x4s. Wouldn’t work in its current iteration but fun idea to cook on.
