What I find interesting looking at this 13 yr old book is how these aesthetics have prevailed - not as 'glitch' but instead as a subset of digital aesthetics that no longer references program malfunctions or error executions

It’s not uncommon that failures, errors, damages or wear become part of the artistic language or part of the aesthetic and expressive canon of a medium. Often established as a counter-culture to the strive for perfection or as a code for the insiders when an art form gets gentrified into popular culture.
