One thing that hinders prop boldness (and quality) is the fact that every nouner votes on every prop. That way, bold props have to be diluted out to cater to voters with every kind of background. I think having domain-specific governance pods would do wonders for Nouns. It would favor prop depth instead of breadth.

while this feels possible i’m not sure if there’s really a prop that didn’t make it for this reason unless we think they aren’t making it onchain even for this reason. candidate props in a way can surface crazier ideas and if we see them being culled down into more boring versions then I would agree!

I think survivorship bias plays a huge role here. Proposers are well aware of the meta, so we don't get to see the undiluted props. I think we do see them, for instance, in @gnars.

Yep, I can attest to this, having been a part of multiple props, helped others with theirs and simply reading some for quick temp checks. I do hope to see more unadulterated prop candidates now though.

I tend to agree with 40 here but one example came to mind that mightve passed with greater domain expertise https://nouns.wtf/vote/198 That said, the ask was huge, and an even better version of the prop wouldve made it anyway? So the filter was actually good? Idk
