As an advocate of Decentralized Identity and Verifiable Credentials (W3C) I’m often asked what can NFTs do that Verifiable Credentials can’t. Still haven’t heard a compelling answer.

NFTs have also entered mainstream consciousness, not easy to do with new tech and it's an underrated feat betting on something else is an uphill battle imo

I think this ^^ is really critical. maybe credentials could work just as well ... but nfts have momentum. and momentum matters for adoption (for better or worse).
